Blinded by your grace

Image result for blinded by your grace lyrics
I'm blinded by your grace
I'm blinded by your grace, by your grace
I'm blinded by your grace
I'm blinded by your grace
Lord, I've been broken
Although I'm not worthy
You fixed me, I'm blinded
By your grace
You came and saved me
Lord, I've been broken
Although I'm not worthy
You fixed me, now I'm blinded
By your grace
You came and saved me
One time for the Lord
And one time for the cause
And one round of applause
One time for Fraser T Smith on the chords
I feel we got one
I stay prayed up then I get the job done
Yeah I'm Abigail's you, but I'm God's son
But I'm up now, look at what God's done
Now I rule tour, look at what God did

Behold the Lord upon his throne.

Dear sis and brothers, I'd love to share this beautiful song with you. It has been in my head almost all morning.
May the Lord pour his blessings abundantly on you and your beloved ones today. In the name of Jesus-Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer.

Behold the Lord - Kwasizabantu choir

More music at the Inn

namely the Bank House at Hixon. This happened last night and we had great fun. Just as the entertainment described in psalm 150 we had a varied array of musicians and instruments. Different styles of hymns and songs, some modern some traditional, powerful rhythms engaged a loving response from the audience. All of us, brothers and sisters in Christ we expressed our adoration to our Saviour in unity.
1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. 3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, 4 praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
Here are some photos. Have a blessed week and do keep in touch. N.

Carol singing at the inn!

At 6 pm I went to Stowe carol service and it was great to resource, listen to lots of different readings from the word of the Lord and pray.
Then, at 7.30 pm, we had a totally different carol evening at the Bank House in Hixon. The pub was packed even more than usual as so many came to sing no less than twenty different carols and praise the Lord and exalt the name of Jesus above any other names.
There was a shortage of chairs but it didn't stop us from singing heartily and joyfully, also the musicians Maureen, John and Steven were excellent.
Have you been carolling yet, did you enjoy it? Let me know!

Six statements by Bono...

Six statements by Bono

1) On both losing their mothers while they were still children:
Bono: I don't have a lot of memories of her, which is [an] unfortunately situation. ... I look forward to meeting her again. But the loss of that is significant for [a child], and for me, I filled it with music and … and it deepened my faith, I suppose.
2) On David and the Psalms:
Daly: That Scripture in Psalms that talks about God being close to the brokenhearted and saving those crushed in spirit—does that mean something to you?
Bono: First of all, David's a musician, so I'm gonna like him. ... And what's so powerful about the Psalms are, as well as their being Gospel and songs of praise, they are also the Blues. It's very important for Christians to be honest with God, which often, you know, God is much more interested in who you are than who you want to be.
3) On Jesus as the Messiah:
Daly: So often those that struggle with accepting Jesus Christ as their savior … it's the idea that he's the Messiah. ... How did you respond to that?
Bono: Jesus isn't lettin' you off the hook. The Scriptures don't let you off the hook so easily. ... When people say, you know, "Good teacher", "Prophet", "Really nice guy" ... this is not how Jesus thought of Himself. So you're left with a challenge in that, which is either Jesus was who he said he was or a complete and utter nut case. ... You have to make a choice on that.
And I believe that Jesus was, you know, the Son of God. And I understand that ... we need to be really, really respectful to people who find that ridiculous and ... preposterous.
4) On how C. S. Lewis might inspire the next U2 song:
Bono: It's very annoying following this Person of Christ around [chuckling], because He's very demanding of your life.
Daly: It's very hard.
Bono: And it's hopeless … trying to keep up with it.
Daly: In fact, Bono, C. S. Lewis has a great quote which I love: "When a man is getting better, he understands more and more clearly the evil that's left in him. When a man is getting worse, he understands his own badness less and less." That is powerful, isn't it?
Bono: Yeah, it might … that could turn up on the next U2 album, but I won't give him or you any credit.

5) On how Bono's advocacy for PEPFAR, The One Campaign, and debt cancellation have improved the lives of million in Africa:

Daly: That is visionary and I think it comes right from God's heart.

Bono: You're absolutely right; it's a much grander vision. ... We have a pastor who said to us, "Stop asking God to bless what you're doing, Bono." ... He said, "Find out what God is doing, 'cause it's already blessed." ... When you align yourself with God's purpose as described in the Scriptures, something special happens to your life.

6) On how evangelicals got PEPFAR going:

Bono: Most of the 9 million lives that are now saved, HIV/AIDS sufferers, are paid for by the [United States]. ... This should be shouted from the rooftops. This is a heroic American story. And I am here to thank the American people for that.
And I also want to thank the evangelical community for that, because it wouldn't have happened without their leadership. Because they like myself, pestered George Bush and the administration, who actually deserve praise for starting this out. President Obama has followed through on it. It's always been bipartisan. ... But you know, it was the evangelicals [that] did that.
I'm in the middle of designing a quiz for my form according to their wishes...questions on planes, music, cooking and...the bible! So here I am and then the name of Bono pops up in my head!
Have a blessed evening...N.

In the news: Pass It On

Who built the ark? It’s a good question for many of today’s parents and children, who are “unaware” of Bible stories. Almost three in 10 children do not know that the story of the birth of Jesus is a Biblical tale, research by the Bible Society found.
And many others are unable to identify Adam and Eve or Noah’s Ark as Christian stories.
Although many parents believe it is important for their children to be aware of what is written in the Bible, large numbers of youngsters have never read, seen or heard some of its most well-known stories.
The Bible Society said that these findings point to a decrease in Bible literacy and show that while many people still place great importance on the book, little is being done to promote it.
In the survey of 800 eight to 15-year-olds and around 1,100 parents, 29 per cent of children didn’t realise that the Nativity came from the Bible.
One in five (20 per cent) didn’t identify Noah’s Ark as a religious story and 19 per cent didn’t recognise Adam and Eve.
But almost one in 10 (9 per cent) incorrectly though that the stories of King Midas and Icarus came from the Bible, while 6 per cent thought the story of Hercules was contained in the book.
Nearly a quarter of children (23 per cent) had never read, seen or heard Noah’s Ark, along with 25% for the Nativity, 38% for Adam and Eve and 43% for the Crucifixion.
And parents did not fare much better. Nearly half of those questioned (46 per cent) failed to recognise Noah's Ark as a Bible story, while around a third were unsure of or did not recognise the tales of David and Goliath (31 per cent) and Adam and Eve (30 per cent).
Adults also confused modern day literature with the Bible. The report found that almost half (43%) of parents whose children had seen, heard or read Bible stories said it was important for a child to do so because these tales provided good values, while two in five (40%) thought these stories were important to our history and culture.
Three in 10 (30%) said it was important to ensure that classic stories and books were passed on to future generations.
It also revealed that over a quarter of children (28%) said they would like to read, hear or see more Bible stories.
The Bible Society published the research to mark the launch of its new Pass It On campaign, which aims to encourage parents to keep the Bible alive by passing on its stories to their children.
James Catford, group chief executive of Bible Society, said: "It's clear that parents want to give their children the best start in life. "The Bible's contribution to our culture - language, literature, the visual arts and music - is immense. "It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from.
"The Bible enriches life, and every child should have the opportunity to experience it.
"If we don't use the Bible, we risk losing it.
"We're calling on parents to pass it on.
Have a blessed week. Yours in Christ, N.

For unto us, a Child is born, unto us a Son is given

Just before I am out to town for the last bits of shopping with Imo, I am enjoying a bit of classical music to the Messiah by Handel. This takes me back years ago when I used to live in Hastings where I was part of a choir. We prepared that piece of music.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
In those days, I was unaware of the link between the lyrics and Isaiah's prophecy, Isaiah 9-6.

I wish you all a blessed time at Christmas. May the Lord protect you, guide you and shine his face upon you during the festive time. In Jesus's name. Nicky
